What do you know! The sun's out and my Instagram feed has already blown up with pictures of the beach, the pool, icecream.. (OK, I get it. It's summer!) .. girls tanning (just thighs? you know the ones #hotdoglegs). It's likely to come across something like #bikinimodel (sure, okay) which pulls up a million reasons to want to run on a treadmill and eat celery for the rest of your life NOW.

But really - if you want to achieve a bikini body, do it the healthy way.  My friend Brenda and I pulled together 7 of the most essential, most DO-able, and most effective ways to work on your body.  We even made a little video to inspire and motivate you! 

Start today! No excuses.

7 Ways to Get Bikini Ready:

1. Have realistic goals - Stop starving yourself. Stop saying you need need a 'thigh gap'. STOP.

2. Clean up your diet.  Any questions?


3. Drink water - Add some lemon!

4. Be active daily - Walk the dog, ride your bike, keep moving for at least 30 minutes a day

5. Do cardio! - Even if you don't have a gym membership (I don't!) you can still easily get in cardio exercises.  One thing I didn't mention in this video is that I love Zumba Fitness for the Wii! I do it at home and its an absolute blast.  You know you're doing it right when you're completely breathless by the end of a "class". 

6. Commit to toning exercise.  Any chance you get - do squats. Brushing teeth, waiting for the coffee to brew? You bet! Basically this girl read my mind:


7. Attend a fun fitness class with friends or set up your own 'Yoga in the park' day with friends - Ultimately its going to reinforce these good habits! 

P.S. :  If all else fails. Follow this advice.
